Years 3 & 4 Spring Term

Land of Iron

The children had a fantastic time visiting the Land of Iron – Skinningrove.  They were able to put their learning into action; spending the day as a miner and really experiencing what it was like to be a miner in East Cleveland.

They were also able to handle artefacts and look at different sources from the time period.

Step into the Light

The children have continued to inquisitively explore another scientific phenomenon – Light.  They have learned about how we are able to see objects, how we know when there is no light at all, how shadows are formed and they investigated how shadows change size.  They also spent some time exploring ways in which we can protect ourselves from the light of the sun.
